TCG: The History & The Mission...

WE ARE UTILITY AND DESIGN PATENT PENDING!

Meet Taylor Snider, an entrepreneur, designer, and creative director based in Los Angeles, California. For over 15 years, Taylor has boldly embraced her identity as a transgender woman while carving out a space for herself in the world of design, product development, and small-batch manufacturing. With a deep desire to create something lasting and meaningful, she channeled her lived experiences, her travels, and her creative vision into what would become her first brand: Traveling Career Girl.

The idea for Traveling Career Girl began during Taylor’s frequent work travel. Lugging around heavy, impractical luggage sparked her determination to design travel goods that were stylish, functional, and luxurious. What started as a cheeky nod to her former profession grew into a fully realized leather goods brand featuring bespoke, thoughtfully engineered pieces designed to make modern travel easier — without sacrificing beauty or craftsmanship.

To bring her vision to life, Taylor spent over three years immersed in hands-on product design and manufacturing, collaborating within a small studio environment and learning every step of the process. From prototyping to sourcing, from technical patterning to hardware selection, she helped shape every detail that went into the early collections. Although this journey involved a former business partner, Taylor chooses not to name them publicly; what she does highlight is that the partnership ultimately brought significant adversity. Navigating that breakdown required resilience, self-advocacy, and recommitment to her own abilities — a pivotal moment that pushed her toward becoming the independent designer she is today.

Despite the challenges, Taylor’s early studio experience also gave her invaluable training. She worked alongside a tight-knit team, including skilled seamstresses within the LGBT+ community, creating a workplace that celebrated representation, opportunity, and visibility. During this time, they built their first collaborative collection that was featured on the runway at Portland Fashion Week (FashioNxt-Season 2023), secured design contracts with several reputable brands and made an array of bespoke leather garments for celebrities, artists and influencers. Their work together highlighted leather as a medium in a fresh, modern way and showcased the power of trans-led design.

Today, Taylor has expanded far beyond those early collaborations. She has launched her own design and manufacturing studio, Studio TCG, where she now operates independently as a private-label product developer for small brands, boutiques, and creatives. Studio TCG is where she brings concepts to life — from sketches and patterns to sampling, sourcing, and production. It represents her evolution: not just a designer of her own brand, but a full-service creative partner for others.

“Traveling Career Girl” remains her flagship luggage and lifestyle brand, while Studio TCG stands as the engine that drives her vision forward — a dedicated space for innovation, craftsmanship, and small-batch manufacturing excellence.

Both brands embody empowerment, resilience, and reinvention. Taylor’s story is proof that setbacks can become catalysts, that adversity can sharpen purpose, and that anyone — regardless of background or circumstance — can build something extraordinary.

With every stitch, every development project, every prototype, and every new launch, Taylor Snider is redefining what success looks like… and making room for others to do the same.
